The Council Degrees will be conferred on August 11 starting at 8am at Eola Lodge.

The Temple Orders will be conferred on September 22 starting at 8am at Eola Lodge.

Well a massive attack of hundreds of sites has occurred and while our site was affected, I was able to use a backup to get the site back up and running. I am diligently working on restoring 6 of the sites I host. I will be adding a new Contributor for the site, Companion William Dishman. Hopefully we will see some new content posted soon!

The District Instructor of the 5th District of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Florida….Excellent Companion Edgar Ortiz will hold a district wide “School of Instruction” on 27 February at Sanford Masonic Lodge starting at 8am.

Some topics to be reviewed are:
– the proper opening and closing of the Chapter
– floorwork
– correct signs and words

Last Saturday, March 29th, the Commandery Degree: The Order of the Temple was conferred by Olivet Commandery No.4, with assistance from Taylor Commandery No.28, at Eola Masonic Temple No.207.

The event was well attended and the Degree was put on beautifully.

We recently held the Chapter and Council Degrees at Sanford Lodge with the Assistance of Orlando York Rite Bodies. This Saturday the class with receive the degrees of the Commandery

As we start thinking about the summer, I need for you to mark your calendar and plan to attend our Taylor Commandery pilgrimage to the Holy Land Experience.  By your vote, we agreed that we will make this trip on Thursday, 12 September 2013 so that we can take advantage of the group senior citizen rate.  This means that we need a minimum of ten participants of age 65 or older.  The trip is open to all Sir Knights; our families, (to include our ladies, our children, and grandchildren); our Brother Masons who are not in the York Rite, and any other friends and relatives we may wish to invite.  The park is open from 10 AM to 5 PM that day.  We will plan to meet up in Sanford at 9 AM so we can arrive at the park for the 10 AM opening.  Plan to spend the entire day because one of the requirements for receiving the discounted rate is that we all attend the Passion Play at 4 PM.

The cost for the event is $25 for adults 19 and, $10 for youth ages 6 to 18, and $7 for children ages 3 to 5. Children 4 and under are free.  It is recommended that each of the attendees purchase the $10 box lunch with their ticket.  To get this rate, I must purchase all the tickets in a single transaction at least 30 days in advance.  For this reason, the Recorder will need your reservation commitment and money not later than our 23 July conclave (read that “meeting” for those of you who forgot that the Commandery has “conclaves” in the “asylum,” not “meetings” in the “lodgeroom”).

As homework in preparation for our trip, I encourage all of you to read the book: “Born in Blood” by Robinson. It will give you new insights when you visit the exhibit on the history of the Bible and how it first became available to the average man.
